The congregation of All Saints Church are proud of our links and heritage with our local school dating back to 1619 when the school children were taught in the chapel attached to the Church; to 1857 when the Rector established the school on its present site; and to the present day where members of the congregation serve on the school Governing body and support the Head Teacher.

The Church actively participates in assemblies at the school with a team from All Saints and the Methodist Church who use a national scheme called ‘Open the Book’ to read the Bible stories to the children and bring them to life using drama, mime, props and costumes produced by the community and introduce the children to traditional and modern hymns and songs. The children quickly get to know the Bible stories and characters and their associated morals and ethics. Amongst the many responses, one class 2 pupil says “I look forward to ‘Open the Book’ assemblies and learning more about Jesus”.

All Saints Church hosts a service for the school 2 to 3 times a quarter, held during school time, and parents, carers, the congregation and community are invited to attend. The service is based upon a season in the Church calendar such as Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter. The children will work with the Church to put together the hymns and songs for the service, read from the Bible and construct the prayers. At the end of most services the Head Teacher will present school awards.

All Saints is a welcoming and worshipping community who hold a variety of services on Sundays and during the week for all ages in our community.

Service Pattern

A service will be conducted every 6 weeks at Husbands Bosworth on Sundays at 10.30am. This is part of a rota basis within the group of churches. This church is part of the Hexagon Benefice which also comprises the parishes of Theddingworth, Shearsby, Arnesby, Bruntingthorpe and Mowsley.
